Conceived by Boston-based Signer Harris Architects, the Milder residence attempts to “Address the desire of the client to have an antique home of traditional architecture, while avoiding cliché.” The 7,000 square feet residence is off the grid and water efficient and located in the Galiesto Basin Preserve.

Ronaldl. I am not quite sure about your newest post, Is 7000 sq. ft sustainable, not to mention the pool and green lawn, compared to your post on what goes on in “the third world” I think they have way more understanding of sustainability and the environment they are building in. Granted the rammed earth is beautiful, but that building I hope is not a model for future developments in the Galiesto Basin. How can you oppose drilling when you build a house that size? I have enjoyed your book and blog but felt compelled to speak up. Liza Macrae Cerrillos New Mexico by way of New york
Interesting house, it is a bit like a blend of Western and Malian architecture, as seen in your other image.
